All these airports are served by low-cost airlines. BA has a good cheap service from London Gatwick to Montpellier. Gerona (Ryanair) has a direct connection to Scotland (Prestwick). Carcassonne and Perpignan, the nearest to us, are served by Ryanair from London Stansted.
A very civilised (and environmentally friendly) way to travel is by rail. From central London by Eurostar, then the TGV from Lille or Paris to Narbonne is about 6 hours. At Lille you merely have to cross the platform. A taxi from Narbonne station costs about 20€, if you are not hiring a car locally.
